To all the wrestling blogs and news sources that claimed The Sci-Fi channel wasn’t going to renew ECW for the 2008 season, we have a little something to say to you:

We. Told. You. So.

That’s right. As we predicted, The Sci-Fi Channel is happy to have ECW on their roster and the current ECW/RAW crossover storylines aren’t fueled by Vince’s desperate attempt to save the brand. ECW may not be a strong ratings performer compared to network television hits, but they blow away the competition in their time slot for the main target demographic.

From the news release:

SCI FI Channel and World Wrestling Entertainment® today announced that the hit program, ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling®, will continue on the network through 2008.

WWE is also the producer of the No. 1 weekly basic cable TV series, “Monday Night RAW®” on USA Network.

This year (Jan-Sept), SCI FI has been the #1 cable network for men ages 18-34 in ECW’s Tuesday 10pm time period.

Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! is a much anticipated horror comedy from first-time filmmaker Jason Murphy that’s making the horror festival rounds this month. The basic premise? Strippers vs. zombies!

In honor of the recent premiere of Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! we’re featuring the three ass-kicking stripper costars as today’s Saturday Starlets. So without further ado, I give you Lyanna Tumaneng, Hollie Winnard, and Jessica Barton.

Lyanna Tumaneng

27-year-old Lyanna Tumaneng (also billed as Lyanna Tuman) moved to Orlando, Florida after graduating from Hawaii Pacific University in 2005. She’s done quite a bit of print/tv commercial work, but Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! is her first feature film role to receive any notable attenion. She gets bonus points for having an equally hot sister. Check out her home page and her MySpace profile.

Jessica Barton

Jessica Barton has done a ton of tradeshow and modeling work and has been featured in Playboy and FHM. Like ECW alum Rebecca DiPietro, Jessica has posed for Mystique Magazine (NSFW) photos and videos. According to an interview with Mystique, Jessica is a former goth chick who was really into Dungeons & Dragons and other RPGs when she was younger.

Hollie Winnard

Hollie Winnard may be the most recognizable lead actress in Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! She appeared as a contestant on season 4 of Beauty and the Geek (though she was eliminated early on), and she has modeled for Maxim, FHM, and STARE Magazine. In addition, 26-year-old Hollie was a Playboy Cybergirl of the month (NSFW) in September 2004. Hollie is a huge sci-fi fan and has had roles in several low budget horror films.

All three women also appear in Fiesta Grand http://www.thefiestagrand.com/, a comedy by David Basulto that has yet to be picked up by a distributor.

Chances are Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! will be out on DVD some time soon, and I’ll be eagerly awaiting every gratuitous moment!

Yoshihiro Tajiri is one of the greatest, and most under rated, wrestlers to ever grace the squared circle. His time in ECW highlights some of his best work and are frankly some of the best matches to ever be held in the world’s most famous bingo hall.

The best Tajiri video circulating right now is this bloodbath against another underrated wrestler, Steve Corino. Just about two minutes in Tajiri hits a brain buster on the walkway which looked particularly brutal. At around 5:46 you’ll see the best table shot ever.

Wow. There was more blood in that match than in all the Friday the 13this combined.

Less bloody but just as awesome is Tajiri vs Jerry Lynn. At 5:32 Tajiri stands on Lynn’s groin!

Here’s an indy match where the Japanese Buzz saw wrestled Low-Ki of TNA. The announcing is sub par but the action is great. Low-ki has a rep for working “stiff” and Tajiri schools this punk on how a professional works:

And finally here’s Tajiri vs Super Crazy vs Little Guido with the whole F.B.I., it’s insane and not just because of the addition of Super Crazy:

Now those matches were old school. Next week we’ll look at tag team action with The Eliminators.

Jewel De’Nyle has announced via her official web site that she and Shelly Martinez have finished filming a non-sex fetish film to be released in January 2008. Although previously thought to be a solo film, Jewel confirmed that the movie will feature both Jewel De’Nyle and Shelly Martinez. The flick is called The Notorious Jewel De’Nyle and Shelly Martinez, and will be released through Platinum Jewel, Jewel De’Nyle’s new production company.

Jewel also had this to say:
