Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday: “Devil Girl” Vanessa Kay

Vanessa Hay may be more familiar to many as a “Juggy” from The Man Show but model/actress Vanessa Hay also played a live action version of iconic tattoo/comic image The Devil Girl in a future cult classic aptly named Devil Girl. In my opinion Kay performance captured the Jungian archetype that has graced the work of so many underground artist portfolios perfectly.

Admittedly the movie isn’t so much Sci-Fi as it is an ode to Generation X pop culture sen through Rob Zombie tinted lenses, but it’s worth a watch if only for the surrealism of watching an exotic dancing Devil Girl.

Vanessa Kay has a portfolio online which shows even sans red body paint and prosthetic tail she isn’t hard on the eyes. Her I.M.D.B. page seems light, hopefully we’ll be seeing more of her in the future.

It’s Not Beach Bumming, It’s a “Shellventure”

Gotta love the positive attitude of former wrestling star/current stoner babe Shelly Martinez as she and her sister hang around in the middle of the day without much to do. On the one hand she shows a spark of that former ambition that almost made her a star by having the good sense to bring along a cameraman and bikini as part of a promotion for her website which makes me love this. On the other hand coming full circle from web model to star on television to girl who complains about how none of her “friends” call her back on YouTube should be “rock bottom” if you know what I mean, and as the person who tipped me to the video points out Shelly is puttering around with a prescription bottle at 3:39 or so and at the end when Shelly and company are enjoying some seafood she’s either had the good stuff or they cook crab in pure THC oil in California.

Unemployment never looked so fun!

I’m of the opinion that Shelly Martinez is still pretty hot but my Internet tipster says she’s getting that “stoner body” thing where women don’t exactly get fat, but lose all muscle tone from hours of sitting around toking up. I said that was too mean to print, and she’s still attractive. It was then pointed out to me that I have yet to join or heavily promote her paysite to which I replied that until she gets a webmaster referral program I won’t.

I mean how hard is it to sign up for a CC Bill account Shelly? I mean really? Missy Hyatt can slap one together but you can’t? That’s just shameful. But not as shameful as this:

Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday: Daniella Alonso

Admittedly there are not as many nude pictures of Daniella Alonso floating around the web as would befit one of E.O.S.’s Saturday starlets but this cult movie beauty is too hot to not mention. The American born actress may best be known as a minor, but delightfully bi-curious, character on prime time viewer lobotomizer One Tree Hill but our readers may also recognize her from high cheese content fright flicks like Wrong Turn 2, The Hills have Eyes 2 and of course Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror.

While those movies may have, shall we say, varying levels of entertainment value, fans are no doubt looking forward to seeing her in her newest project The Collector, which has a site that literally will check your name against a database to see if you’re old enough to see their “sadistic” content. Where’s the A.C.L.U. when you need them? Fear not though, Fangoria has the “sadistic” content which is basically a trailer with some blood and topless women in it. Go ahead. I’ll wait.

As you probably can see in the new tab you just opened it isn’t Daniella’s breasts in the trailer, but I haven’t seen the movie so there’s hope yet! Until then this is as risque as it gets with the tiresomely classy Daniella, but something tells me that after a couple of more Horrible Movie IIs we’ll probably get to see some more skin.

Pray for a flop people! Pray for a flop.

Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday: Melinda Clarke

Melinda Clarke

Recognize that face? I was watching an episode of Firefly the other day, and when I saw this actress, it drove me nuts trying to figure out where I’d seen her before. Yay for the Internet! She’s Melinda Clarke and trust me, you’ve seen her before because she’s got a ton of sci-fi and fantasy credits to her name.

Apparently Melinda Clarke saw mainstream success recently with a four season run on The O.C., but I’m proud to say I missed out on that teen angst fest. Sci-fi and horror fans are likely to have caught some of her early film roles in Return of the Living Dead III (where she was billed as Mindy Clarke) and Spawn.

Melinda Clarke has also appeared in a string of guest spots on shows like Xena: Warrior Princess, Sliders, The Pretender, Star Trek: Enterprise, Charmed, Tremors, Reaper, and as mentioned, Firefly. She is also frequently recognized from her recurring part as a dominatrix on CSI.

Melinda Clarke turned down the title role on Xena, something I’m sure she wouldn’t want to be reminded of. However, her two guest appearances on Xena: Warrior Princess were so popular they made an official action figure of her character, the Amazon Warrior Velasca.

Okay, I know the drill. You don’t care what she’s been in as long as you can see Melinda Clarke naked. Well, you’re in luck. Grab yourself a copy of Return of the Living Dead III or Return to Two Moon Junction to catch Melinda Clarke nude or check out this collection of grainy but promising screen caps of Melinda.

Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday: Catherine Bell

Catherine Bell in FHM, 2000

Catherine Bell is probably best known for her lengthy stint on the television series JAG, but science fiction fans will recognize her from her starring roles in the Sci-Fi Channel mini-series The Triangle and the time travel disaster flick Thrill Seekers (originally released as The Time Shifters). Catherine Bell also appeared in three episodes of the short-lived alien series Threshold, as well as Alien Nation: Body and Soul.

Like many of our previous sci-fi starlets, Catherine Bell got her start in modeling. Her first movie role was as a body double for Isabella Rossellini in Death Becomes Her. Yes, there was partial nudity involved.

Although her most recent role in the Lifetime television series Army Wives is decidedly not aimed at sci-fi fans, Catherine Bell continues to have a significant following (if Web forums are any indication.)

Catherine Bell

In 2003, a Stuff Magazine interviewer asked Catherine about her experience with Hollywood bad boys hitting on her. She responded with this particularly nasty example of an interaction with one of these “bad boys”:

I told him that I was on a diet—five ounces of protein and a cup of vegetables [per meal]. He leaned over and whispered in my ear, “I’ll give you five ounces of protein.”

Yuck. At least Stuff has the good Catherine Bell pics, like this one:
