Sci-Fi channel main stay Claudia Black has set nerds hearts a’flutter since her early work on shows like Hercules. Best known for portraying sexy alien super soldier Aeryn Sun on the beloved Farscape, the still sexy mother of two has been turning heads most recently on Stargate Sg-1 playing sexy alien adventurer Vala Mal Doran.

Proving that nothing sells Sci-Fi like a hot chick in leather with a ray gun Black has developed a legion of fans almost as adoring as the E.O.S. faithful who come to this site every day. Almost. Claudia however has developed her fan base sans topless pictures and tasteless jokes, relying instead on charisma, acting ability and a velvety smooth voice that makes even interviews like this fascinating:

O.K., so she’s not topless in a DVD with Jewel De’Nyle or anywhere as far as I can tell. But Shelly Martinez wasn’t in a scene where she showed up in some nerds bedroom in nothing but skimpy red lingerie looking for a quick hook up because she’s bored.

Ah, the Nerdcore calendar girls. They might not technically be sci-fi starlets, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do a post about these sci-fi vixens, so today’s Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday post features the ladies of Nerdcore.

The 2008 Nerdcore calendar combines “photography of nude girls in heroic and villainous settings” with reminders of nerdy dates and geeky hoildays. Among the nerdy pinup scenarios you’ll find on the pages of this oversized, glossy calendar: “a fully nude firestarter igniting her surroundings, a “super” lass undresses after a hard day’s night of battling bad guys, and a katana-wielding vixen, wearing a headband and not much else, shows a few ninjas who’s the real boss is.”

So, if you’re a slacker like me and you haven’t bought a 2008 calendar yet, pick yourself up one of these Nerdcore calendars. You can spend the year surrounded by naked chicks and while there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to remember your best friend’s birthday, you’ll never forget which day Marty was sent back to the future.

The sci-fi babe for today’s Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday feature is German-born Xenia Seeberg.

Xenia Seeberg is best known for playing the role of the super strong and aggressive love slave Xev Bellringer on the cult classic television series Lexx between 1998 and 2002. The character’s name, Xev, was originally Zev, but was altered to include the first letter of Xenia Seeburg’s name when she took the role.

While Lexx helped Xenia Seeburg capture the attention of adolescent boys around the globe, it was her trademark full, pouty lips that helped her become known as the German Angelina Jolie.

After Lexx, Xenia Seeburg has worked primarily in German productions. Some of her recent sci-fi and horror roles include German horror flicks Beyond the Limits and Lord of the Undead (the latter with Debbie Rochon), and the American supernatural comedy So, You’ve Downloaded a Demon.

In honor of the premiere of the new series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the focus of today’s Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday post is the show’s star, Lena Headey. In this highly anticipated science fiction series (debuting Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 8pm EST), Lena Headey fills the titular role made famous by Linda Hamilton in the Terminator movies.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been highly anticipated by sci-fi fans. Not only does it fills the programming void left by the writers’ strike, but it stars Lena Headey, the stunning British actress known best as the queen in 300 and the love interest in The Brothers Grimm. The show picks up where Terminator 2 left off, ignoring the developments in T3.

34-year-old Lena Headey has some big shoes to fill as Sarah Connor, and Terminator fans aren’t going to let her forget it. The unavoidable comparisons between Lena Headey and the original Sarah Connor, Linda Hamilton, began months ago, with many fans criticizing Lena Headey for not having the cut-muscled buff chick look that Linda Hamilton honed for the Terminator films.

But Lena Headey is ready to make the role of Sarah Connor her own, as she has in dozens of on-screen roles. And no doubt this actress, honored in the 2007 Maxim Hot 100, will look good doing it.

Despite her growing popularity and frequent need to be in the United States for work, Lena Headey is a private person and has elected to continue making her home in London, England.

Our first Saturday Sci-fi Starlet for 2008 is actress Brandy Ledford. She is also sometimes billed as Brandy Sanders, Jisel, and Jiselle.

Brandy Sanders began her acting career with a small role in the Sly Stallone/Wesley Snipes sci-fi flick Demolition Man. Although she may be most recognized for her work as a Baywatch babe, she has appeared in numerous science fiction TV shows.

Brandy played Doyle on Andromeda from 2004 - 2005 and had a six-episode stint on the short-lived Invisible Man series. She also made guest appearances on several sci-fi shows, including Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, and Smallville.

The other role Brandy Ledford is most known for is her part in the Vince Neil /Janine Lindemulder sex tape released in 1998.

Prior to the release of the sex tape, Brandy Ledford appeared nude in photo spreads for Penthouse, Hustler, Club International, and other men’s magazines. She was honored as Penthouse Pet of The Year in 1992. That was before she was born again and decided to stick to more mainstream work.
