Is acting ECW General Manager Tiffany (aka Taryn Terrell) the world’s sexiest woman?

Maybe not, but she has been nominated for the dubious honor of World’s Sexiest Vegetarian.  She’s in good company in this PETA sponsored competition, joined by the likes of Hayden Panettiere, Alyssa Milano, and Pamela Anderson.

Tiffany wrote on WWE Universe that she went vegan because:

I am speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. I am a strong proponent for the humane treatment of animals and am making my stand known by not ingesting any animal products whatsoever.

She saw the meat-free light after watching a video by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA.)  Does anyone have the heart to break it to her that PETA is an organization that is notorious for killing animals that could otherwise be adopted and has been caught dumping their bodies in trash bins.

Notably absent from the list of “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian” nominees are former ECW divas Shelly Martinez (Ariel) and Lena Yada, both of whom have been known to pass anti-KFC propaganda around on MySpace.

The annual WWE interbrand draft was televised Monday during a special three hour edition of Raw.  How did ECW fair?  The wicked stepsister to Raw and Smackdown drafted a grand total of … drum roll, please … one superstar!

Vladimir Kozlov was drafted from Smack down and made his ECW debut last night in a boring match against a jobber. Management seems pretty invested in keeping him with the ECW brand since they’ve already added him to the opening video sequence.

Of course, Kozlov wasn’t really a pickup for ECW since they also lost a superstar.  The Miz was drafted to Raw in a move that separated him from his Dirt Sheet partner, Morrison.  Will this be the end of the self-proclaimed greatest tag team of the 21st century?  I’m just glad Mr. McMahon didn’t blow up this year.

The supplemental draft was slightly more eventful.  Here’s where we stand with ECW:

What do you guys think of these draft results?  Is anyone even watching ECW anymore?

The video is a little grainy but this old Ohio Valley Wrestling match between Shelly “I don’t need you TNA!” Martinez and WWE uber-Diva Beth Phoenix is worth watching. “New” ECW alumni Trinity is the referee who you’ll be shocked to see ends up fighting one of the wrestlers after the match is over. I’ll bet you didn’t see that coming!

After seeing this match I wondered why Martinez isn’t still wrestling. Then I saw this video on her MySpace and it all fell into place:

It’s too bad; Martinez was an underrated but solid performer who could have been the 21st century Missy Hyatt which there’s an opening for since Hyatt has decided to be this century’s Michael Jackson. But she’s been burning bridges while toking up and now we can all look forward to seeing her in a series of ever more degrading direct to video movies culminating with some sort of fetish porn.

Oh wait…

Guesses abound as to which WWE diva will pose for Playboy this year. Most speculation has centered on the youngest WWE diva Kelly Kelly (pictured above), although recent rumors suggest that Playboy and WWE may have severed their longstanding relationship. Since January came and went with no leaks or teases about the next diva to take it all off, those rumors are looking more and more accurate. The Sun agrees:

With the WWE aiming for a more family-friendly product this year, fans fear the annual delight of a Diva in Playboy may be coming to an end.

Vince McMahon is keen to make his company more ‘PG-rated’, in a bid to win over advertisers and parents.

That could mean an end to the WrestleMania tradition of a WWE stunner stripping naked for the adult mag.

Apparently naked WWE divas and family-friendly programming don’t mix. Who knew?

Adding to the growing evidence that WWE is focusing more on the underage crowd, Kelly Kelly shared some telling news about WrestleMania 25 during an interview with the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show last weekend. When asked if there would be a bra and panties match, Kelly responded, “We’re high-road now. We’re PG.”

Those don’t sound like the words of a woman fresh off a Playboy photo shoot.

Jim Ross also weighed in on his J.R.’s BBQ blog today:

All of the sudden there is all this talk about whether or not the WWE will have a Diva in Playboy prior to Wrestlemania. First of all, I do not know. I do seriously doubt it, however. I am more interested in the WM25 card than I am about who may be “tastefully nude” in Playboy Magazine.

Could all these rumors be a ploy to throw fans off and avoid spoiling the big reveal?  Possibly, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.  There seems to be a committed effort to take the company in a new kid-friendly direction. (Just look at the last few months of ECW shows.) I just question whether this will pay off financially for the WWE. The PG product certainly isn’t earning them any accolades from adult fans.

And then there was one. WWE management released ECW diva Lena Yada Monday with the usual lack of fanfare and formulaic best wishes, leaving Tiffany as the sole female superstar on the ECW brand.

Lena Yada was primarily an interviewer for the ECW brand, but just last week she finally had a chance to showcase her wrestling talents during her in-ring debut on Raw where she wrestled with the winning team in a 16 diva tag team match. No word yet from Lena on what the future holds, but we’ll keep an eye on her MySpace blog for updates.

The latest round of WWE firings also pushed ECW superstar Elijah Burke out the door. Burke, who joined WWE in 2006, appeared briefly on the Smackdown brand before heading to ECW. His release is no huge shock since his last televised match aired in May of this year. Burke wrote on his official site, “MY COMEBACK SHALL BE GREATER THAN MY SETBACK!~ The Pope Has Spoken!”

Also sent off to the land of “future endeavors” Monday was SmackDown Superstar Kenny Dykstra. Super Crazy, who debuted on the ECW brand in August following this year’s WWE Supplemental Draft, was released last week. Rumor has it he asked for the release because he was unhappy with his place in the company, but I’m sure management was happy to comply considering they’re trying to save $20 million next year.

In a bitter twist of fate, Boogeyman remains on the ECW roster.
