ECW alum Dawn Marie Psaltis was interviewed during “Michael Porter’s WrestleShoot” on BlogTalkRadio this afternoon. I haven’t had a chance to listen to the whole show yet, but she discusses both her career, her struggles with depression, and her efforts to help her sister-in-law Carrie Deussing raise money to pay for medical treatment for her advanced Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.

The most striking part of the portion of the interview I heard was the obvious love and respect Dawn Marie has for her fans and her colleagues in the wrestling business. Concern for her fellow wrestlers has inspired Dawn Marie to develop Wrestler’s Rescue, a great new organization dedicated to helping retired wrestlers pay for health care costs related to their years in the ring.

A Wrestler’s Rescue fundraiser will be held on September 14, 2008 in Piscataway, New Jersey. The event will include appearances by tons of wrestling personalities including Mick Foley, Tammy “Sunny” Sytch, Missy Hyatt, Balls Mahoney, Terri Runnels, Sandman, The Iron Sheik and Lou Albano.
