A band for the season
Let’s be honest, the entrance music for the new ECW is gods-awful, less actual music then glorified ring tones rubbed out by some WWE staffer’s son in his “home studio”. My source tells me that the rumor mill about WWE not wanting to pay the insane amount of royalties for every performers favorite songs are true (more or less) but I say theirs a solution that will make fans happy and won’t put the pinch on Vince’s pocketbook.
The Internet’s full of hungry new bands that’ll sell their songs for a fraction of their value for the kind of exposure they could get on ECW. Most are on Indy labels, or better yet self-produce so Vince’s sharks, I mean lawyers, can really cut a “good” deal. As an example I give you The Young Werewolves.
This horror themed rock-a billy outfit from Philly has a sound that’d fit right in on the Sci-Fi channel and could punch up the ECW shows, or at least stop viewers from muting their sets during wrestlers entrances. Black Cats their best song in my humble opinion, but you can get a sample of their stuff on their MySpace if you don’t want to take my word for it.
Of course they have a website with updates, tour info and merchandise so stop by and tell ‘em E.O.S. sent you.
