Even after Kelly Kelly took a beating from Victoria and Layla during a 2 on 1 handicap match on tonight’s ECW on Sci-Fi, both her former dance partner and the Smackdown diva were eager to keep laying into Kelly. And where was Balls Mahoney? True to the rumor about axing that angle, he was nowhere to be found.

Luckily Michelle McCool was there to take his place.

After launching into the ring to breakup Victoria and Layla’s vicious attack on Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool knelt at Kelly’s side, cradling her head and whispering soothing words of comfort. And if that’s not a setup for a new angle, I don’t know what is.

Look for a tag team match some time soon between Victoria/Layla and Kelly Kelly/Michelle McCool. Using Kelly in a few matches on Smackdown would be a great way for Vince McMahon to give her more airtime and let her gain some experience with more seasoned divas.
