A classic match between four of the best wrestlers in the old ECW from Heatwave ‘96. Compare this to the new ECW’s matches and you’ll see that it isn’t just athleticism (which performers like John Morrison and C.M. Punk have in spades) which made ECW special but there’s an intimacy between the performers and the audience that the WWE brand can never reproduce. John Kronus passed away July 18th of complications after surgery due to enlarged heart, an irony not lost on those who knew him as a big hearted man who was loved by everyone who knew him. He’ll be missed.

Perry Saturn is retired after suffering severe injuries stopping a rape. The man’s a hero.

Mikey Whipwreck runs a wrestling school called New York Wrestling Connection which puts on shows where ECW alumni such as Raven and Jerry Lynn sometimes perform.

Sabu has recently been seen wrestling in Mexico and Australia.
