Breaking news: After careful consideration, WWE management have decided to rebrand ECW as The Punk & Nitro Hour, effective immediately following last night’s Nitro/Punk extravaganza. Other show names considered by Vince and company included:

The Punk & Nitro Variety Hour
Brokeback ECW
MCW (Mild Championship Wrestling)
WTF do we do now?

Management also considered keeping the ECW name but announcing that the acronym would now stand for Eye Candy Wrestling, but felt that might alienate straight male viewers.

In all seriousness, the Johnny Nitro/Tommy Dreamer and CM Punk/Kevin Thorn matches on Tuesday 7/3/07 were decent (especially the former), but I’m not convinced that the current ECW Champ and the Straightedge Superstar can carry the show.
