Fans were aghast at the old fashioned “jobber squash” inflicted on former ECW Champion Justin Credible. WWE superstar,and now apparently the “greatest shoot wrestler of all time”, Kurt Angle defeated Credible in what was less a match and more a humiliating welcome to the “new” ECW. Angle dominated Credible in a match so short it made the Sandman vs. Zombie match from earlier that night seem like an iron man match. In a show as disappointing as ECW’s premiere on Sci-Fi, it would have been wise to let Credible show a little of the talent that made him an ECW star in the first place. If Kurt Angle is too valuable to the company to take a chair to the head, or get set on fire, than why is he in the ECW at all? Aside from stroking Angle’s ego, the match only served as a reminder to its fans that ECW may, in fact, truly be dead. Let’s hope next week Credible gets to work an actual match, and fans get to see some actual hardcore wrestling, and not commercials for the next WWE pay-per-view.
