The Sci-Fi Channel’s reimagining of 1930s hero Flash Gordon premieres next Friday (August 10, 2007 at 9pm EST) , and the buzz is already starting about the woman who plays Dale Arden. The gorgeous 32-year-old model-turned-actor is none other than Canadian up-and-comer Gina Holden.

Gina Holden is most often recognized for her role in Final Destination 3, but she has several sci-fi credits under her belt, including The Butterfly Effect 2, the Canadian vampire drama Blood Ties, episodes of The Dead Zone and Supernatural, and Aliens vs. Predator 2, due to be released in December 2007. Fans of Gina Holden won’t want to miss her guest appearance on The L Word, notable for the topless love scene with Jennifer Beals.

The media and blogosphere are definitely starting to take notice of Gina. She was selected as Brawny Lad’s Sci-Fi Hottie of the Month (July 2007) and was also featured in a recent MediaBlvd Magazine article and a brief article in Toro Magazine earlier this year.
