Sci-Fi Starlet Saturday: Melissa George

Melissa George has one of those faces - one of those “where do I know her from?” faces. And if you’re a sci-fi and horror fan, you may know her from more places than you think.
After some success with television roles in her native Australia, Melissa George moved to Los Angeles. That’s where she landed the recurring role of cold-blooded double agent Lauren Reed on Alias in 2003. Although she had acted in several small roles in American productions prior to her 23 episode stint on Alias, Melissa George’s portrayal of Lauren Reed was really her breakthrough role.
In 2004, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films recognized Melissa George’s performance on Alias with the Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award.

Melissa George has also found success in the horror genre, with roles in The Amityville Horror, Turistas, and of course, 30 Days of Night (out on DVD on February 26, 2008). Melissa George is also in final negotiations for the starring role in The Triangle, Christopher Smith’s upcoming horror thriller set in the Bermuda Triangle.
Melissa George started out as a model back in Australia, and before making her move to the United States, George posed for Australian Playboy and Black + White. Both shoots included some nudity.
