The focus of today’s sci-fi starlet feature hardly needs any introduction. 28-year-old Sarah Michelle Gellar has been a staple in horror television and movies for years. Her name is synonymous with Buffy, who she played on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel from 1997 to 2003.

In addition to slaying the bad guys, Sarah Michelle Gellar has also earned a name for herself as a scream queen. Her horror film credits include I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Grudge, The Grudge 2, and The Return.

Next year Sarah Michelle Gellar will appear in the title role of Alice, based on the video game American McGee’s Alice. Also out in 2008 is Possession, a remake of a Korean horror film that was originally going to be called Addicted. (My completely unsubstantiated theory is that they changed the name because of too many headlines ribbing Sarah Michelle about being addicted to remakes of Asian horror flicks.)

The dystopian sci-fi film Southland Tales (written and directed by Richard Kelly of Donnie Darko fame) featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar as adult film star Krysta Now is scheduled for limited theatrical release on November 14, 2007. Sarah Michelle stars opposite The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) - how’s that for a science fiction/wrestling tie-in?
